The task was to ascertain the demand for electricity in The Gambia based on the geographical location and the unique characteristics of public health facilities and schools, necessitating extensive data collection, analysis, and visualization.
The project began with targeted field data collection, analyzing the unique features and locations of public health facilities and schools. This data was then rigorously analyzed, with visualization techniques used to simplify and contextualize information. Insights were leveraged in a prefeasibility study investigating suitable renewable energy sources. Simultaneously, capacity building initiatives were undertaken in the ministries, improving their data management practices. Ultimately, this facilitated the development of a location-based, sustainable electricity solution in The Gambia, reducing both carbon emissions and fossil fuel dependency.
